Ministerial Instruction 4 (MI-4) | Citizenship and Immigration Canada

The Fourth Set of Ministerial Instructions was recently published in Canada Gazette. Simply put, Ministerial Instruction 4 (MI-4) puts temporary pause on Family Class Sponsorship Applications for Parents and Grandparents. This is to address the appliction backlogs and to speed up the process.

During the 24 month period that the Family Class Sponsorship for Parents and Grandparents is on hold, Citizenship and Immigration Canada will conduct a consultation to come up with a better program. And as part of this action plan, Citizenship and Immigration Canada introduced the Parent and Grandparent Super Visas.
